Cookie Policy

My website uses cookies.  Because of GDPR and general politeness it has to be said, this means I have to annoy you with a pop-up about cookies.  My apologies, I’m guessing you find them as annoying and intrusive as I do.

If you want all the legal jargon its just below, feel free to plough through.

Cookie Policy

Cookies are text-only strings of information that are transferred from a website to the cookie file of the browser you are using on your computer/device.  This helps the website recognise you the next time you visit and can help the site to provide a better user experience.

A cookie will typically contain the name of the domain from which the cookie has come, the “lifetime” of the cookie, and a value, usually a randomly generated unique number. Generally, cookies are used to retain your preferences, store information for things like shopping carts, and provide anonymised tracking data to third party applications like Google Analytics.

As a rule, cookies will enhance your browsing experience. However, you may prefer to disable cookies on this site. The most effective way to do this is to disable cookies in your browser. We suggest consulting the Help section of your browser or taking a look at the About Cookies website which offers guidance for all modern browsers.

When you visit the Sue Todd Photography website it may send you a cookie. Cookies may be used:

  • to enable personalisation features on my website (these help me to provide personalised access to private galleries); and
  • to compile anonymous, aggregated statistics that allow me to understand how visitors use my website which in turn will help me to improve the structure of the website and build on the user experience I offer. I cannot identify you personally in this way.

Types of Cookies

Two types of cookies may be used on this website:

Session Cookies

These are temporary cookies that live in the cookie file of your browser until you leave the site only, and

Persistent Cookies

These remain in the cookie file of your browser for much longer (though how long will depend on the lifetime of the specific cookie). You can always delete these from your browser following the instructions provided by your browser.

Disabling/Enabling Cookies

You have the choice of accepting or declining cookies by modifying the settings available in your browser. However, you may not be able to use all the interactive features of my website if you do disable cookies.
